Money Maker: You Data

A little over a week ago I noticed that someone who posted quite frequently on a forum I frequent highly recommended the site YouData.com. After looking the site over for myself, and hearing of others who also had had good experiences with it, I signed up.

What is YouData? YouData is a website which pays you for taking time out of your day to look at advertising. The only information they ask for is your name, age, gender, cell phone #, email and zipcode. You are not required to give any more information than that.

Once you are signed up and have verified that you are a real person through an email verification and a text message verification, then you go to the Adgets page. You then click on "Reveal" and the ads will show up. Next you click on "Collect __ cents" and links to each website connected to the ad shows up.

You then click on those links, and a bell dings to let you know that your account has been credited.

Depending on how many ads show up for you, it can take anywhere from 1 minute to 5 minutes. To find out if you have new available advertisements you can either check in at the site, or download their adjet player to your computer.

Some of the sites you may see advertised are for different types of food products, fashion apparel, and silly trinkets.

You are paid each Friday through Paypal.

I received my first payment of $2.56 on Friday, May 8, 2009. Since that payment, I have earned another $.67 (in about a minute's time.)

As you can see, you won't make a lot of money through this program. But depending on how often you check in for new available ads, and your demographic, you can make a nice bit of spare change for just a few spare moments.

I also wanted to mention -- I have not received any unwanted emails nor text messages as a result of signing up with YouData.

ETA: Unfortunately at this time YouData is not able to accept members from outside the USA. However, they are working on changing that. I will update as soon as that happens.
