Photo Hunt: Painted

In this first photo is a picture of the roof of my mom's parents barn circa late-80's, which is in need of a paint job. When my mom was growing up, her family raised goats. The house they lived on had been in the family for over 100 years. My grandmother was born in, raised in, and raised three children in that house. Near the end of her and grandpa's life (1998) they moved out of the house, and the house and property was sold.
A few weeks ago my mom went back to Ohio for her 40th High-school Reunion. While she was there she visited with her older sister, and they both went out to where they were raised. This is a picture of how the barn looks now - Painted.

Aloha!
What a transformation after a nice paint job huh! Nice. In fact we did some repainting ourselves on our house on Maui. Stop by http://upcountrysmiles.com & visit,

It can be so strange to see the place you grew up, especially when it looks different
@ Cindy O Farrel,
Yes, it was a nice paint job.
@Ms Terri,
Yes, it sure can be. A few years ago I went back to Albuquerque, NM to visit a friend. While there, we went out to find the two houses where my family had lived when I was in elementary school. We never were able to find one of them, and the other one which had been one of maybe six houses, was now completely surrounded by houses. It was strange.
Nothing improves real estate like a new paint job, I've been told!

Sometimes transformation can be shocking. I remember driving by my grandmas old house. When I would visit as I child, I would hide in the cornfield behind her house. Now it's a big shopping center. (And I'm not even that old!)
I agree, the change is remarkable. What a difference a little paint makes. Great memories.
Mine is up here.
@Nitit1 - Yes, a paint job definitely can improve the looks of a property.
@Katherine - Some people call that progress ... I kind of think it's sad.
@SRP - Yes, the paint did make a difference. You should see what the new owners did with the house - amazing! I wish my grandparents could see how their home was transformed.
